University leaders are the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors who are tasked with carrying out the overall management function of the university, conducting education, research and community service, fostering lecturers, employees, students and fostering relationships with alumni, both within the university and in the community.

The Chancellor is appointed or dismissed for a term of 4 years, after going through a special election process held in an open University Senate meeting. This is the composition of the Unesa Leadership for the 2018-2022 period.
