Ojhung is a traditional ritual or ceremony performed as a request for rain but over time art Ojhung developed into a traditional art for entertainment events and community games. Ojhung is the art of fighting by hitting and fending off opposing limbs using a cane that is mediated or guided by a referee. This art shows the physical strength of the players.
Ojhung is played by two players in one match. In one show Ojhung usually consists of 3 & ndash; 5 matches. Ojhung can only be played by men with a minimum age of 16 years.
Ojhung is played every Tuesday in December & ndash; April. Ojhung is most played in Batuputih Laok Village Batuputih District Sumenep Regency.
One week before the Ojhung activity the player Ojhung > do salvation after Magrib for a whole week to request the personal safety of the players and the safety of the village.
Seeing the uniqueness of Ojhung Unesa students who are members of the PKM-PSH group consisting from Febryansah Gilang Asha and Nurul Hidayat seized the golden opportunity to develop Ojhung to become a tourist destination on the basis of sport tourism .
Although in the development of tourism based on > sport tourism is rather difficult but this strategy must be carried out for the development and preservation of the Ojhung traditional arts in Sumenep.
