Unesa .ac.id Surabaya - To explain the background and purpose of its formation an organization should have a clear vision and mission. After all organizing is one of the bridges that can give us a more tangible view of life in society. Understanding this the Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Unesa held the Ormawa FT Unesa 2019 Character Education Workshop. which was held in Trawas 20 to July 21 2019 aims to provide briefing to members of the Ormawa FT to be able to carry out the organization visionary.
Dedy Rahman Prehanto S.Kom. M.Kom. As Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni explained to To provide material that can be used as a basis for realizing the purpose of this workshop the FT presents presenters who are experts in their fields. Two presenters were presented namely Prof. Dr. Bambang Supriyanto M.T. and Prof. Dr. H. Muchlas Samani M.Pd. (Rector of Unesa from 2010 to 2014).
Material related to "Tips for Success / Motivation for Learning in Higher Education (Academic and Non-Academic) and Exploring Prospects and Job Opportunities After Graduating from Higher Education & rdquo; delivered by Bambang Supriyanto on the first day talking about the philosophy of & ldquo; success & rdquo; students must understand before achieving success. In his presentation Bambang Supriyanto presented previous figures such as Aristotle Thomas Alfa Edison and Ki Hajar Dewantara who started their success with a never-ending effort until they succeeded in getting it. Of the several things explained in terms of how to achieve success Bambang Supriyanto emphasizes more on the 4 pillars namely the identity capacity facilities and integrity of the students themselves from which the four pillars will give birth to intellectual emotional and spiritual intelligence. .
From the presentation delivered by Bambang Supriyanto Dedy then concluded that students who are successful both in the community and in the organizational environment are students who are able to have intellectual intelligence and control emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. In this case emotional and spiritual intelligence will give students the ability to manage their own emotions and not harm others while intellectual intelligence is intelligence that produces a mindset that is logical precise accurate and trustworthy so humans have analytical skills sharp .
Unlike Bambang in this workshop Muchlas emphasized more on the essence of the organization itself. Muchlas said that he did not need to wait for his age if he wanted to improve his quality "It is best to change yourself starting from an early age" he said. he said.
According to Muchlas there are some things that students must know in running an organization. Call it the most underestimated thing namely respecting the opinions of others. Differences of opinion within an organization is a natural thing that needs to be addressed wisely and discussed together to find the word consensus. Another positive thing from organizing is to teach us to be mature in responding to unexpected events that arise as long as we (students) process the realization of dreams / ideals so that we have many paths to success.
